Pair of 1973 Canada $5 Montreal Olympics Sterling Silver in Lucite Displays, 2pcs
In the run up to the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the Royal Canadian Mint produced these and other sterling silver dollars. This lot includes one $5 Fencing coin and one $5 Sailboat coin, each contained in a lucite block. The Sailboat coin comes in a plain, circular lucite display, roughly the size and shape of a hockey puck. The Fencing coin is encased in a square block, with text "Union Carbide Battery Products - Walkerton, Ontario - Safety Award - 1,000,000 Hours Without a Time Loss Injury - March 14, 1972 to April 15, 1976." Both displays have some scratches and scuffs, though they are only really noticable in direct light.
