ERROR 1872H Canada 25-cents EF-AU (EF45) Broken Die on Obverse
When a die fractures under the immense pressure of the minting process, a crack or gap is formed. If this die is used to produce more coins, metal will fill in these cracks and gaps, creating raised lines and blobs in the finished surface. Specimens with die break errors are usually valued more highly by collectors.
