This elegant set from China includes nine coins and a mint token. Coins are valued between 1 fen (listed as "cent") and 1 yuan, with two special inclusions: a 1 yuan coin and a mint token, both featuring the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall is one of China's most famous landmarks. Built in stages from the 7th century BCE to the 17th century CE, this absolutely massive 21,000-kilometre stretch of fortifications roughly cups the southern border of Mongolia and was indeed intended to repel the various nomadic warrior peoples of the Eurasian Steppe. Its long, serpentine silhouette on the horizon earned it the poetic nickname "Earth Dragon" in the Middle Ages, as from a distance it looks like a giant dragon lying across the landscape.
