Australia 2010 $1 Celebrate Australia Greater Blue Mountains Coloured Coin
This aluminum-bronze coin celebrates Australia's beautiful Greater Blue Mountains. Designated a World Heritage Site, the Greater Blue Mountains Area consists of over 10,000 square kilometres of wilderness. It is not technically a mountain range -- instead, the area consists of incised sandstone plateaus and basalt outcrops that create a mountainous appearance, especially under the blanket of eucalyptus forest that covers it. This coloured coin features a Blue Mountains Tree Frog, an inhabitant of the area's rocky rivers and streams.
This coin comes sealed in its original packaging. Of course, as a second-hand item, there may be small signs of wear and handling.
