Australia 1988 New & Old Parliament Houses Commemorative Medal (scratches)
Old Parliament House was built to be the seat of Australia's Parliament in the decade following World War I. It was intended to be temporary, but Parliament ended up sitting there for over 60 years. By the 1970s, they were out of space, and resources went to designing and constructing a new Parliament House. The new building was finished in 1988, with the old building becoming a museum.
This token celebrates the opening of the new Parliament House with a detailed engraving of the building on the obverse. On the reverse, Old Parliament House is represented. The token comes in a decorative plastic case.
Please note, the case exhibits some noticable scratches and scuffs.
